The 55-foot Jamie Hanna was designed and purpose-built to fulfill the needs of the research and remediation community. Built by Wesmac and based upon the proven design of their lobster boats, she is seaworthy and comfortable due to her deep-draft, full keel, and stout construction. At the request of Goodwin Marine, Wesmac elongated their largest workboat’s lines to facilitate sampling and surveying, providing a total of 480 square feet of deck space while extending the stern deployment area farther aft of the running gear, increasing safety. Also, this modification added more volume to the hold beneath the deck so that our clients can store their gear cases and backup supplies after setting up their work stations, making for a clutter-free, safe work environment.
The Jamie Hanna’s purpose-built transducer boom provides customizable transducer mounting and a rigid securing bracket to allow fast, vibration-free surveying, and her hydraulic lobster hauler facilitates sampling tool retrieval and multi-point anchoring. Her 5000 pound capacity A-frame reliably supports vibra-core projects, buoy maintenance, and sampling operations, and the winches can be operated from the comfort and safety of the pilothouse which offers 180 square feet of heated interior work space, two long shelves for storage, a computer rack, and 360 degree visibility. The Jamie Hanna’s interior isn’t just functional, it’s comfortable, boasting four bunks (complete with individual LED lights and AC power), and a comfortable head and heated shower. Her complete galley is outfitted with a full-sized four burner stove/oven, a full-sized refrigerator/freezer, and a four-place dinette.
We at Goodwin Marine Services are looking forward to helping your team achieve its research, remediation, surveying, and work boat projects safely, quickly, and professionally.
